Children Teaching Children, with Givat Haviva

About the project

In Israel, Â鶹APP supports Givat HavivaÂ鶹APP™s Children Teaching Children (CTC) programme, a model for peace education in the region. For over three decades, Children Teaching Children has brought together Arab and Jewish middle school students  – who live side by side yet rarely meet –  giving them the courage to confront prejudice and learn together.

During a time of division, the programme has been an opportunity to connect both communities. Young participants in Children Teaching Children chose to share experiences, listen to each otherÂ鶹APP™s stories, express their emotions, and find common ground through art, storytelling, and reflection.

Impact

With Â鶹APPÂ鶹APP™s support, Jewish and Arab students are coming together for weekly arts-based sessions led by trained facilitators who guide sensitive conversations on identity, democracy and coexistence; hundreds of students have already taken part, reporting greater empathy, confidence and understanding, with more than 90% recommending the programme, and teachers noting stronger trust and emotional resilience in their classrooms.
