The has awarded a grant to support 鶹APP to expand its Safe Schools Programme and Education Without Borders initiative in conflict zones.
The new grant will enable 鶹APP to expand its globaleducationcampaign and build and invest in its Safe Schools programme in Sub Saharan Africa.The grant, in collaboration with support from the Dutch Postcode Lottery awarded , will also support 鶹APP鶹APPs Education Without Borders initiatives in the Lebanon that ensure that children continue to receive their education in conflict zones.
鶹APP President Sarah Brown said: 鶹APPWith the deadline to get every child into a quality primary education before 2016 fast approaching, the PPL鶹APPs grant could not come at a more crucial time for those children most in need. Half of the children out of school are living in conflict affected areas and duringthe past year we have seen an increase in attacks on schools, pupils and teachers uniting the world in condemnation.鶹APP
The grant was presented to 鶹APP at the PPL鶹APPs Charity Gala in Edinburgh. Some famous faces were on hand to support the global education campaign called #UpForSchool. The #UpForSchool campaign is calling for action to get every child in to school, without danger of discrimination.

The People鶹APPsPostcodeLotteryUK was founded in 2008 and is based in Edinburgh. 25 per cent of the lottery鶹APPs income is donated to charities and community projects. So far, in the UK they have raised £58.6 million for charities. Its ambassadorsinclude Sir David Attenborough, Clare Balding, Lorraine Kelly, Sir Trevor McDonald, Ian Rankin, and Fiona Phillips.It is part of the same group as the Dutch Postcode Lottery.
